Story:

The Movie starts with the rivalry between Suman ( Vasi Reddy) family and Nasser family. Both families indulge in killing others for the supremacy in the village. In the process, everyone in Vasi Reddy family dies making Nasser uncontested villain of the village for the next twenty five years.
Ramachandra(NTR) is a ordinary man who grows in city as orphan with a aim to earn 60 lakhs and put it in a bank get interest and then get married without any tensions in life ,Trisha is his lover.
Veeradugam(Kota srinivas Rao) to continue his legecy of the family wants to adopts NTR, even Trisha pressures NTR stating that she would marry him on one condition that  he should have a good family background and status. Even NTR accepts her and transforms into ‘Vijaya Dawja Simha’
Story shifts to village Veeradurgam belongs to Vassireddy family which has arch rivalry with Naseer family from generations,Veeradugam family who has lost the fight 25 years back live in a fightened mode.  How NTR comes for Veeradurgam family resue ? How he manges to uplift the family lost glory?….is the story.
Performance:
NTR has given 100% Extraordinary powerful performance as Rajavasireddy with great expression and body language and dialogue delivery ,Trisha & Krithika are glamourous, Kota,Nasser are to be mentioned. Venu as NTR’s brother in law , Bhanu priya as NTR’s mother are good in their roles.
Techinical:
The director Boyapati concentration on hero presented him well, with some over dose. is awesome, Boyapati chose a tried and tested story to elevate the image of NTR. The screenplay runs on predictable note. Boyapati Seenu gave mass treatment to a rather simple story. There are enough mass elements to satisfy NTR fans. He is able to show the two different shades of NTR very well. His direction is good in high voltage drama scenes.Music by Keeravani is excellent , background score Re-recording is good. O Lilly, Vasthu babgundi with four heroines are visually good while Ruler song disappoints. Choreography is good., fights by Ram-Laxman are very violent,Cinematography by Arthur Wilson is topnotch. M.Ratnam dialogues are powerful and suited very well for the stature of NTR.overall techinically is very good.
Analysis:
Story is  outdated and no proper captivating and convincing peaks ,narration is good,Climax is heavy may be a minus for the film with dialogue and fight mixed in climax. Family audience cannot see such a high violence. Dialogues are Plus for the film.
First half goes in lighter way with little comedy and  entertainment. Second half goes in sentiment and ultra violance.
First thing first, ‘Dammu’ failed to reach the high expectations. Weak story coupled with predictable screenplay hamper the success of the movie at the box office. Boyapati tried to give a message about value of the life in the climax made it weak.On the positive side, Boyapati should be commended for the way he elevated NTR. The mass elements in the movie will be a feast to NTR fans and for those who like high voltage drama. Unfortunately, director failed to etch any other character well. Lack of drama, comedy, and excessive violence make the movie appeal to a particular section of the audiences. Just NTR’s one man show.
Verdict:
Dammu for NTR fans …But No Dammu in movie

Dhammu Movie Review
Dammu Movie Review
Dhammu Review – Dammu Movie Review, Rating, Dhammu Telugu Film Review: NTR’s previous two films didn’t fare well at the box office. He is back in his forte, i.e. mass masala with Dammu. Boyapati Srinu who has mastered the art of making mass entertainers directed this film. Trisha and Karthika are the heroines. Here is the review in detail…

Listen Review:

Story:

An orphan is adopted by a big Rajas family and is given the name Raja Vasi Reddy (Junior NTR). Raja Vasi Reddy comes to know that he will have to take a huge responsibility of saving his village from dreaded blood thirsty goons. At the start he will be reluctant to take the responsibility. But once he takes it to heart there is no stopping. How does he win over the enemies and how he makes his village a peaceful place is the crux of Dammu’s story.

Analysis:

Dammu is yet another commercial potboiler film with a routine story and age old backdrop. This film may not get glowing reviews from the critics. NTR fans will lap it up and will watch it repeatedly for NTR’s roaring performance. Dammu has the elements to lure the masses in B and C centers.

Director could have written a better screenplay to take the film to next level. There are too many ups and downs in the narration. Heroism never gets completely elevated as the story demands such underplay. But from the outlook of the film one would expect a better and powerful output.

Boyapati played it safe by taking up a subject that has been beaten to death many a time. He tried to add humor to the narration in first half and it is just okay. There are some really powerful sequences and equally dull moments in the film. Perhaps a low profile release would have received a better response.

Performances:

Junior NTR was superb in this film. He was apt for the character and shouldered the film throughout. If not for NTR this film would have been a dud. NTR’s performance in interval scene got great response from his fans.

Trisha was fine and Karthika was not bad either. They don’t have much scope to perform. All they have to do is to shake their leg with NTR when needed and mouth few spicy dialogues. Nazar’s getup was good. Venu was Okay in his brief yet important role. Presence of Brahmanandam and Ali is felt but they didn’t make any difference to the film.

Technicalities:

Dammu has good technical values. Cinematography was top notch and so was the music. Keeravani’s background score stands out. Editing could have been better and Dialogues add repeat value for the target audience. Producers spent a fortune on the film. It is very rich in every frame. Director Boyapati Srinu made sure that there are good number of powerful scenes. His trademark scenes were shot well and the rest of the scenes are just okay. Had he concentrated more on the screenplay, Dammu might have hit the right chords with the audience.

Final Word:

Dammu is for fans. NTR fans will be pleased with this powerful mass film as they didn’t get to see in such a powerful role in the recent times. Others may like it or may not like due to poor content and old concept.
