Department Movie (telugu) matter solved !

Film producer Kiran Kumar Koneru has won the first round of his battle with B-town biggies, bagging the rights to dub the forthcoming film Department in Telugu. He now plans to release the film by the end of May.Viacom 18 and RGV Factory had earlier said that they would not give the rights to dub Department in Telugu as the film has a Mumbai-centric plot. They even considered suing Kiran for violating the copyright by selling the satellite rights of the film’s Telugu version to a leading TV channel without their consent.

But once the Bollywood honchos got the ‘caution notice’ from Kiran, they climbed down and offered the rights to Kiran, unwilling to hinder the release of the film’s Hindi version on May 18. “Yes, I have been given the Telugu rights by Viacom 18. I am happy with it. I would be releasing the Telugu version in the last week of May or early June, after completing the dubbing work,” Kiran confirmed. However, his efforts to recover his investments in RGV’s Dream Force continue. “My issues with Dream Force are still on,” he said.
