Tollywood Hat trick Flop Heros !!

There seems to be a never ending debate on the low success rate for most Tollywood films. While few blame it on lack of proper scripts, others put down to short of proper packaging and poor marketing. No matter what, the poor showing of most films is creating a big dent in the revenues of the Telugu Film Industry and putting heroes and directors under tremendous pressure. Take look at some of the recent big-ticket releases of Tolly superstars, which tanked at the box office.
    • Pawan Kalyan – Despite huge expectations, Power star Pawan Kalyan’s three successive outings, “Panjaa”, “Theenmaar” and “Komaram Puli” failed miserably at the BO. The failure of these big budget flicks put exhibitors in jeopardy.

    • NTR Jr – Young Tiger NTR Jr’s “Dammu”, “Oosaravelli” and “Shakti” were the most talked about films, but they tanked at the box office due to lack of content. Although the makers came with a well-disguised publicity strategy, things turned gloomy for this hero who now has three successive flops to his name.

    • Ravi Teja - Mass Maharaja was once tipped as a ‘minimum guarantee’ hero. However, his last three films portray a different picture. The experimental “Dongala Mutha”, “Veera” and the recently released “Nippu” were touted as potboilers, sank at the marquee, resulting in an ‘image U turn’.

    • Daggubati Rana – Despite a couple of Bollywood films in his kitty, the lanky Daggubati lad is yet to taste commercial success in Tollywood. Post his critically acclaimed “Leader”, Rana starred in “Nenu Naa Rakshasi”, “Dum Maaro Dum” and “Naa Ishtam” – all of which were colossal flops.

    • Allu Arjun – Seems like lady luck has left the side of Tollywood’s stylish star. His last three big screen outings, “Varudu”, “Vedam” and the much anticipated “Badrinath” bombed at the box office.

  • Manchu Manoj – The rocking star always aspires to do things differently, but somehow Manchu Manoj falls short of expectations. “Mr. Nookayya”, “Vedam” and “Jhummandi Naadam” were three back-to-back disappointments for this promising actor.
