Why Ram Charan didn’t debut with Magadheera remake?

The Telugu superstar will make his Bollywood debut with Zanjeer remake while the Hindi remake of his film Magadheera won’t feature him.
Telugu superstar Ram Charan Tej is making his Bollywood debut with the remake of Prakash Mehra’s Zanjeer - a film that gave Amitabh Bachchan his first hit and the angry-young-man tag. Ironically his Telugu blockbuster Magadheera is being remade in Bollywood but he is not starring in it.
While one would have expected Ram Charan to debut in Hindi with the Magadheera remake, the actor decided against it. In fact even Anil Kapoor suggested him the same. “When I met Anil Kapoor some time back, he told me I will ask Boney to remake Magadheera with you in Hindi. But I said I don’t know if I would want to do the remake. Magadheera is a lovely film which can’t be recreated”, says Ram
Ranveer Singh will now be seen recreating his character in the Hindi version of Magadheera to be directed by Abhishek Kapoor. But before this casting was done, Ram Charan personally felt Hrithik or Ranbir could have pulled off the role. “Ideally I think it is Hrithik Roshan who should be playing the character. Even Ranbir Kapoor is really good for the role. He is a young actor who can blend well with any character”, says Ram Charan.
Meanwhile the actor is aware that comparison between his debut and Amitabh Bachchan’s Zanjeer are inevitable. Nevertheless he is all set for his big Bollywood debut.
