Soon after a film becomes a hit in Telugu, it has become a fashionable fad for our Telugu directors to issue statements like that they are flooded with offers to remake their movies in Hindi. When 100% Love released, director Sukumar told media men that he's planning to remake it himself in Hindi. He also claimed that he'd make his next Telugu film only after the release of Hindi version of 100 % Love. Months passed, and there is no clue of his Bollywood plan. Latest we heard that he's giving final touches to his script for Mahesh Babu's film in Goa.

Recently, Srinu Vytla announced that his immediate film would be remake ofDookudu in Hindi with Salman Khan. He bombarded the media with this announcement in josh of super success of Dookudu but we hear Salman Khan didn't show much interest in it and S rinu Vytla is now busy writing script with his group of writers for NTR's movie.

Sekhar Kammula also planned to remake his super hit, Happy Days , into Hindi but his plans didn't go well. So he dropped off the idea and made Leader in Telugu later and now is directing Life Is Beautiful.

Surender Reddy also said that Bollywood producers are asking him to remake his super hit, Kick, but nothing has been finalized yet. But Surender Reddy has chances, though, as director for Hindi Kick has not yet been finalized.

Though Telugu super hits are now regularly being remade in Hindi, Bollywood producers are not showing much interest in Telugu directors. They want the directors who know the pulse of Hindi audiences. That is why Prabhu Deva, who faithfully remade Pokiri into Hindi, is in much demand as he is now remakingVikramarkudu into Bollywood as Rowdy Rathore.

Remember even after the super success of Bodyguard , Malayalam director Siddique is yet to get a chance in Bollywood. Puri Jagannadh who made straight Hindi film, Bbuddah Hoga Teraa Baap also has edge than his other South Indian counterparts but he's now concentrating more on Telugu films.

Mogudu is Tapsee's first big film as main heroine in Telugu. Though she acted in biggies like Mr.Perfect and Veera, she played second fiddle to Kajal in those. She pines hopes on this Krishnavamsi directed movie, as the director is known for giving new lease of life to actresses. Remember Charmee shot to fame with his film - Sri Anjaneyam and then Kajal with his Chandamama. Actresses say he extracts the best from them. He also shows heroines in glamorous way.

That is why Tapsee is gung ho about Mogudu. Will her dreams of joining the top league of actresses in Telugu come true after the release? Let's wait and see. The movie is hitting the screens on November 4, 2011.

Our film makers have a tendency to make grandiloquent statements before a film release.  However, with due respect to Shravan, we think Priyudu is not the usual one, if not a class apart film, as claimed by them.
We are more interested in the romantic duo, played by Varun Sandesh and Preethika Rao (Amritha Rao's sis).  It is because they look beautiful in the posters.
As per the director, the film is a distinct love story.  Every situation will excite you, he says.  Moreover, it is a youth-oriented film which will entertain the family audience as well.
If Priyudu indeed turns out to be the film it claims to be, happy days will have been back for the male lead.  Pratheeka, of course, will have registered her first success in Telugu.  (She is already popular in Tamil).
The film is slated to release by the end of Novembe

Mogudu - Of slapping, re-marrying and screaming

Final Word
When was the last time you saw a good film for the first time? I hope Mogudu shouldn’t be on your wish list!
Rating: 2/5

Mogudu is a film that should have been ideally released in the times of EVV Satyanarayana and Muthyala Subbaiah.  No, we are not complaining about how the hero comes to marry the heroine twice in the film.  The problem is that there are many things in Mogudu that seem too much to digest.  Gopichand looks twice the age of the average Telugu hero; Tapsee taps her tears twice as is required; everyone from Roja and Rajendra Prasad to the hero-heroine duo scream twice their pitch; characters slap one another twice more than expected.  (Shraddha Das shows her skin twice more than she has done previously, but we are not complaining about that).

To begin with, there is nothing new in this film that we have not seen in Krishna Vamsi's films in the past.  Mogudu is a family drama wherein the over a score of family members bond together like birds of same flock.  A drama whrein the eldest member (Rajendra Prasad in this case) wears his love for the members on the sleeves (and sometimes the members on the sleeves, literally).  They are seen in a huddle every time.  In short, Mogudu is a film where Krishna Vamsi professes the ideology of joint family, once again.
Anjaneya Prasad (Rajendra Prasad) wants his son (Gopichand) to marry a suitable girl at the earliest.  Our hero has a problem though.  He wants a girl who can live at the home with his family members without carping about the largeness of the size.  (Now, why does such a man go to see a wannabe fashion model, played by Shraddha Das, is a puzzle).  However, one fine day, he spots Raja Rajeshwari (Tapsee Pannu) doing classical dance and it is love at first sight for our hero.
He again bumps into the girl on a night when she, now drunken, comes to him asking for lift.  Our hero brings her home.  As you think of taking forty winks, love blossoms between them.  They are married off.
Before you start wondering as to why the post-marriage rituals are dealt with elaborately, you see Rajendra Prasad and Roja (bride's loud-mouthed mother) in violent disagreement over a tradition followed post-marriage in the groom's family.  It results in one too many slaps.  Result: Gopichand and Tapsee break up.
The second half is about how the divorced couple patch up and the two families bury the hatchet following a tear jerker by Gopichand.  (The climax is the blandest one in recent times).
Mogudu is bogged down by many minuses.  Firstly, the story is archaic and old.  Secondly, Krishna Vamsi's style is routine.  The actors do exaggerated comedy as well as teary acts.  Mogudu has not got a single comical moment.  What a tragedy, considering the fact that Ninne Pelladatha and Chandamama were such enjoyable family entertainers from the same maker!
Performance-wise, Tapsee shines in the film.  She is watchable in the rom-com episodes of the second half.  Besides her, Roja fits the bill and her arrogant character is a treat to watch.  Rajendra Prasad is good.
However, Gopichand is a disappointment.  He should stick to doing roles that suit his age.  He is a complete misfit in the romantic scenes.
All in all, Mogudu is a below-the-mark film by any standard.  It is a well-meaning attempt gone awry because of the poverty of imagination.  Also, as said above, its subject is not contemporary, which is its greatest demerit.

By his own candid confession, Balakrishna did not think twice before giving his nod for Sri Rama Rajyam.  He said this as much, exuding confidence, on the occasion of the release of publicity posters and calender of the movie.  Much like Balayya who resolved to do the film at the first instance, those who have seen the Yuva Ratna in Lord Rama's get-up too have instantly fallen in love with his look.
"You are going to listen to my mythological dialogues soon.  I could pull off the role because of my lineage with my father (the legendary NTR).  We have great directors in the film industry.  We should get inspiration from the treasure trove of our literature and cultural heritage.  The producer (Yelamanchi) Sai Babu could do it," Balakrishna said. In what may be called an irony of sorts, Balayya was in Ravana's costume shooting for a scene in Parama Veera Chakra when Sai Babu approached him with the offer.  Balayya also vouched for Illayaraja's music.

That Akkineni Nageshwara Rao, a legend himself, has always appreciated the good work of his colleagues in the industry without any ego, is well-known.  He was all hail for the ability of the Nandamuris, especially "brother NTR", to incredibly fit the bill when it comes donning mythological characters.
ANR said that the great Indian epic Ramayana is a scripture that espoused great human values.  "Many themes are interwoven in the Ramayana.  I have always held the view that the creator has to be a dab hand.  For any film, the director, producer and the musician are the heroes.  It is they who have created this film (Sri Rama Rajyam)."
Continuing further, ANR said that the Nandamuris are peerless when it comes to essaying mythological characters.  He said that he would always vote NTR for the best one to portray Lord Rama.
The event was attended by Illayaraja, Srikanth (who plays Laxman in the film), along with Rama Naidu, Murali Mohan, Brahmanandam Krishnam Raju, among the noted ones.

It might be a surprise of sorts to you to listen that Namitha's next is going to be a film with a message.  Thanks to Love College's director Jayasimha Reddy and his out-of-box thinking, Namitha will not only be seen as a yoga trainer in the movie but also a gutsy fighter.

Not revealing much about the story, the director said that Love College would show Namitha in a glamorous role with a brainy side.  It is the latter part that may see to it that Namitha spouts some really feminist dialogues.  (It's our guess though).

"You will find Namitha in a romantic as well as an action role.  It is first-of-its-kind in the heroine's career.  The film is currently in  post-production stage.  Love College will be released in the last week of November," Jayasimha Reddy said.

Prithvi Raj, Shobana, Kavitha, D Srikanth and others are the rest of the cast.  Thriller Manju is the action director.  It is produced by M Raviteja Reddy.

Actor Balakrishna took an aggressive posture the other day and took strong exception to the comment made by an unnamed Telugu hero who had said that there have been no experimental film makers in Telugu industry.
At a Sri Rama Rajyam meet on Oct. 31, Balayya said that the actor who made the foot-in-mouth comments does not know the history of Telugu cinema.  He even said that he warned the actor that he would not think twice to kick in his teeth if he made such uninformed comments again.
There has been speculation about who Balayya was referring to.
The actor, who has always been a proud member of the Telugu film fraternity, repeatedly asserted the genius of some marvellous makers like Bapu to drive home the point that Tollywood has produced great film makers too.
Besides Chiranjeevi who threw his weight behind Balayya today, the actor's comments have found resonance across the board with many pointing to the likes of K Vishwanath and K Raghavendra Rao to say that the young actor was wrong.

Nara Rohit is set to be paired up with Nithya Menon in a film to be produced by CV Reddy.  Gulabi Movies is the banner on which it will be produced.  Set to go on the floors in January, the film will directed by Srinivas Raga of Katha fame.
CV Reddy says that Srinivas Raga came up with a novel theme, which inspired him to immediately take up the project.  Saying that fights and comedy would be major attractions of the film, Mr. Reddy also said that the film talks about a new dimension to familial relations.
The writer-turned-producer is known for tasteful productions like Sweta Nagu and Badili in the past.  It looks like Mr. Raga has indeed got a good subject here.  His Katha was, after all, a winsome experiment.

When speaking about the Prime Minister of our country, one is expected to address him with respect and regard. However, the current Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been spreading humour. Yes, it is being noticed that many are doing comedy whenever Manmohan Singh’s name is taken.

Now, some have taken this a step ahead and have introduced a new term. This is called the ‘Manmohan Mode’ which means ‘Silent mode’. Reports say that even college students are using this term amongst their group of friends while lecturers also asking students to maintain silence through ‘Manmohan Mode’.

The talk among many is “PM Manmohan is the top silent spectator of India. The history of politics has never seen such a silent PM. Whether it is because of ‘Madam’ or not we don’t know but Manmohan has beaten the record of the earlier PM P V Narasimha Rao. Atleast, when PV used to speak in front of mike one could connect but even that is not heard when Manmohan speaks.” So folks, enjoy the ‘Manmohan Mode’.

Nandamuri Balakrishna will soon be seen in one of his prized possession roles, that of Lord Rama. All this is happening through the film ‘Srirama Rajyam’. Recently, the stills from the picture were revealed and Balayya’s first look as Lord Rama was revealed while Nayantara revealed herself as Goddess Seeta.

The talk among the cine folks is “Ramudu means N T Rama Rao. This got fixed by the people. In few films where he donned the divine role, he looked physically fit as well. But during Rath Yatra the BJP people came up with a new picture of Lord Rama who was muscular and sharp looking, that created a very strong impression on the people.”

They add “So, those comparisons are coming into picture when looking at Balayya. As such, he is not fitting the physical standards but the divinity angle is very good. Anyways, more than how he suits the character, it is the content in the film which is important. If that works ‘Srirama Rajyam’ will become hit.”

If anybody thought young hero Ram Charan Teja has made it big by growing under the shadow of his father Chiranjeevi or going to grow big by marrying Upasana, the grand daughter of a business tycoon Pratap C Reddy, he is mistaken.

For, Cherry seems to have a wider circle than anybody else in the film industry and business world in the state. His presence at the Formula One Indian Grand Prix race recently held in New Delhi and the way he rubbed shoulders with who’s who of the business world, shows the kind of network Cherry has.

Sam Branson, son of UK-based business tycoon Richard Branson of Virgin Racing personally invited Ram Charan Teja to support his racing team. He, along with Sachin Duggal (of Nivio, a cloud computing firm), Roma Khanna president of MGM Digital from LA and other music producers from the US, were seen at their table at the post-racing celebrations.

Sources say that they all enjoyed the fabulous performance of Lady Gaga and had a great time till the very end.
