Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations and Cinematography D K Aruna today informed the State Assembly the government was taking all necessary steps to prevent cinema piracy in the state. She said during Question Hour the government had so far registered 3,924 cases of piracy. Based on information from producers, a close surveillance was being kept on persons identified for indulging in piracy and on receipt of complaint from the producer of the cinema or suomoto, cases were registered under Copyright Act and provisions of A.P.Exhibition of Films on TV Screen through Video Cassette Recorders Regulations Act, she said.
